Advanced Placement course-taking and scores over time
For a recent project, our team wanted to explore how scores on Advanced Placement tests, and the composition of test-takers, has evolved over time, and whether COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the steady growth in the diversity of test-takers over time. Longitudinal AP data, however, must be manually downloaded for each school year. I automated the downloading process using Stata and cURL, which I’ve documented in a Jupyter notebook available on GitHub. All data were obtained from the National Summary Reports.
